Hello Delegates!

I am very excited to welcome you to DAMUN XIV! My name is Sumedha Srilakshmidaran and I am thrilled to be chairing this year. I am currently a senior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory and am proud to say that this is my fourth year as a member of Model UN. My first time delegating was at DAMUN XI, which unfortunately was on Zoom due to COVID. It was an interesting experience, to say the least. My goal is to help all delegates, especially those delegating for the first time, feel comfortable and confident in themselves. As someone who has attended DAMUN for three years now, here are some pro tips if you want to have the best time possible: research research research (you can never have enough information), the wifi password will not be given out until it is time to write resolutions so make sure you have all your information downloaded or printed, don’t be intimidated by other delegates (they’re probably just as nervous so fake it till you make it), and if you’re planning on wearing high heels maybe bring spare sneakers (your feet will hurt so much after 9 hours). Dear Delegates,

My name is Harshitha Janapareddi, and I am thrilled to welcome you to the Human Rights Council at DAMUN XIV this year! I am currently a junior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory, and this is my third year being a part of Model UN and participating in this amazing experience. This will be my first year chairing a conference, and I look forward to seeing you all and hearing all the resolutions that will be created. I know that DAMUN may seem overwhelming, but in reality, it is a very welcoming experience that can teach you many things in the process. Just make sure to do your research beforehand (do not procrastinate!!!), brush up on your parliamentary procedures, and remember to have fun!
