Welcome to DAMUN XVI!

My name is Aadya Kumar, and I have the honor of being a chair for this year’s DAMUN Historical Security Council. I’m a senior at Uplift North Hills and have been a part of Model UN for three years now. This is my second year chairing and I look forward to watching debate take place during the conference and seeing your discussions on the pressing global issues that affect our world. DAMUN is meant to be an easy-going conference for new delegates, so if you’re anxious about anything you’re probably not the only one! Hello delegates!

My name is Allison Pham, and I’ll be your co-chair for the Historical Security Council! I’m a senior entering my second year of Model UN and first time as a chair. As an avid (beginner) historian, I can’t wait to see what new perspectives and facts every one of you guys bring to the table! What makes history entertaining is pondering every what-ifs–what if Hitler never committed suicide? What if Germany never took the blame for World War I? What if JFK never got assassinated? I hope this topic makes you wonder about all the what-ifs and more.  

I know attending conferences, especially your very first, may be stressful and nerve-wracking. Yet, it was so much fun meeting new people and debating with others as you laugh and smile at every random event.
