Dear esteemed Delegates, Advisors, and Friends of DAMUN,

It is my absolute honor and pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to the fifteenth session of the Dallas Area Model United Nations Conference. Whether you are a first-time delegate or a seasoned participant, DAMUN provides a unique opportunity for all to engage deeply with pressing global issues to expand our understanding of international affairs. Our conference is designed not only to foster diplomacy and critical thinking but also to inspire collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

With ten distinguished committees, DAMUN offers something for everyone, challenging participants to think “outside the box” and encouraging each of you to explore new perspectives and strategies. This conference is more than a simulation—it is a chance to grow as individuals, to build lasting connections, and to gain insights into the complexities of our world. Every participant brings something invaluable to the table, and together, we can create an unforgettable experience of learning, growth, and impact.

As a fourth-year member of UNHP’s MUN Club, I am proud to see the growth we have shown and the impact we have made over the years. What started as a small group with a shared passion for international relations has flourished into a vibrant community dedicated to diplomacy, debate, and understanding diverse global perspectives. Each year, our members have taken on new challenges, expanded their knowledge, and developed their skills, which has strengthened our club and enhanced our contribution to events like DAMUN.

This year, our dedicated secretariat and DAMUN team have worked tirelessly to bring together an exciting lineup of topics and create an unforgettable conference experience. From tackling the influence of artificial intelligence in the Security Council to addressing the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in the Human Rights Council, and even navigating a thrilling Hunger Games-themed CRISIS Committee, DAMUN has something for everyone. Each committee offers a unique platform to engage in meaningful debates and immerse yourself in complex, real-world challenges.

Prepare for a wild ride through crises filled with unexpected plot twists—hijackings, kidnappings, secret alliances, surprise assassinations, and more! We promise there will never be a dull moment as you navigate these dynamic scenarios and work collaboratively to find solutions. To aid in your journey, we’ve created new and improved background guides to help your preparations go smoothly and give you a solid foundation for in-depth research.
Our chairs are excited to help make this experience both rewarding and impactful. They are here to support you, so don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or guidance.
