LETTERS FROM THE CHAIRS
Dear Delegates,
It is my honor to welcome you to DAMUN XVII. My name is Reyansh Laha, and I am currently a junior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory. I have the opportunity to serve as one of your Co-Chairs for one of our newest committees, AD-HOC. This is my second year chairing in the Dallas Area Model U.N and my first time chairing a Crisis Committee. Model United Nations is extremely close to my heart, teaching me many skills that I previously did not have, and now I get to witness those skills in other delegates during our debate in this adaptable and fast-paced committee. For those reasons, I hope to make this committee especially memorable, and I hope you enjoy the topic and scenario we have created for you. Lastly, my advice for you in this committee is to be as adaptable as possible and not to be afraid to take risks both in debate and directives. This will be a challenging committee, but I have faith in your abilities. If you have any questions about this committee, you can reach out to me through my email, reyanshlaha@gmail.com
Delegates, I look forward to seeing your skills,
Reyansh Laha
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to DAMUN XVII. Whether you are returning or attending for the first time, welcome! My name is Aafsan Chowdhury, a junior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory, serving as your co-chair for this fun and novel committee brought to DAMUN this year. This is my second year chairing at DAMUN (Dallas Area Model United Nations), and I hope this conference is both enjoyable and memorable for every one of you. I reassure those nervous about the conference: don’t be! This is meant to be an exciting, fast-paced committee that will constantly keep you on your toes! While this committee may seem scary at first, we are confident that every delegate is more than capable of rising to the occasion. My Co-chair, Reyansh, and I encourage you to stay engaged, have fun, make memories, and not get too comfortable. We hope by the end of the conference, you’ll learn skills, leave with great memories, and greater appreciation for Model UN, and consider DAMUN again next year. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact me via email at Aafsan.c@gmail.com.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Regards,
Aafsan Chowdhury.
