GLOBAL CYBER SECURITY COUNCIL

LETTERS FROM THE CHAIRS

‍

Dear Delegates,

My name is Mohitha Paramesh and I am very excited to be welcoming you to our first Global Cybersecurity Council at DAMUN XVII! I am a current senior and this is my second year in Model UN and my first year serving as a chair for a committee. For this year, my co-chair and I have come up with two compelling topics to stimulate an engaging discussion and we cannot wait to hear all your creative ideas and resolutions being passed. Utilize this background guide and feel free to reach out to either me (mohithaparamesh@gmail.com) or my co-chair if you have any questions. I am so excited to meet you all and hear your discussions!

Good Luck!

Mohitha Paramesh

Dear Delegates,

My name is Diya Sendhil, and I'm excited to serve as your chair for the Global Cybersecurity Council at DAMUN XVII. I'm a sophomore at UNHP, and this is my first year chairing a committee. To me, Model UN isn't just debate. It is also public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking. Because the GCC has never convened before, you all have the chance to define what this committee looks like from its very first session. Cybersecurity is one of the defining challenges of our generation. The law, the technology, and the politics around it are all moving at once, and that's what makes this topic special. If you have questions about the topic, procedure, or your position paper, email me anytime at diyasendhil@gmail.com. I can't wait to see what you build in committee.

See you in committee,

Diya Sendhil
